GTGTZ Fun Run 2026 takes its name from the George Town Getting to Zero campaign, and its message is printed right on the poster: stop HIV. The 5km run is organised by the Timur Laut District Health Office (Pejabat Kesihatan Daerah Timur Laut) together with Wellness Hub Timur Laut, and flags off at 7.30am on Saturday 28 November 2026 from the health office on Jalan Perak.
Only 500 slots are on offer. The first 400 sign-ups pay an early-bird RM20, and the remaining 100 pay RM30. Every registered runner gets an event T-shirt, the first 300 finishers receive a medal, and there is a lucky draw with prizes that include a walking pad. Registration is through the Howei platform.
This is a fun run rather than a race, so it suits families, office groups and first-timers who want an easy Saturday-morning 5km with a public-health cause behind it. Getting to Zero campaigns aim for zero new HIV infections, zero AIDS-related deaths and zero stigma, and community runs like this are one way health offices get the conversation out of the clinic.
Before you go: the organiser says there is no kit collection before or after event day, but the listing also shows a separate 25–26 November slot at Wellness Hub Timur Laut, so confirm the kit arrangement with the organiser. Parking is offered at SMJK Heng Ee and at the Timur Laut fire station (Bomba). An unlabelled 7 November 2026 date on the page may be the registration cut-off, so sign up early if you want the RM20 rate and a medal.
