The Penang Forest Run 2026, powered by Decathlon, takes runners into the hill trails of Bukit Mertajam Forest Park on the mainland on Saturday 14 November 2026. It is organised by Comrades All Star Solutions together with Decathlon and the Penang Forestry Department (Jabatan Perhutanan Pulau Pinang), and it is one of the few proper trail races on the Seberang Perai side.
There are three distances, all on out-and-back routes. The 5km fun run is open to anyone aged 10 and above and still climbs about 351m. The 10km (about 741m of elevation gain) and the 15km (about 1,351m) are for runners aged 18 and above, so expect steep, technical forest paths rather than a road race. Starts are staggered: the 15km goes first at 6am, the 10km at 7am and the 5km at 8am.
Entry was RM165 for 15km, RM135 for 10km and RM95 for 5km, plus a RM5 forest permit and an 8% data administration fee. The kit includes a bib, event T-shirt, finisher medal, post-race refreshments and lucky-draw eligibility, with timed e-certificates for 10km and 15km. Trophies go to the top five in Men and Women Open and Veteran for the two longer races. Note that the registration page now shows entries as closed (closing date 31 October), so this listing is mainly useful for registered runners and supporters.
Tips: the forest park is a popular hiking spot for Bukit Mertajam residents, so arrive early for parking and expect the trails to be slippery if it rains in the days before. Trail shoes are strongly recommended.
