Bendang Run 2026 is a 5km community run in northern Seberang Perai, flagging off at 7.30am on Sunday 6 December 2026 at MARDI Kepala Batas. "Bendang" means paddy field, and the run is set at the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute's station in Kepala Batas, in the heart of the mainland's rice-growing belt.
The run is part of the Karnival Generasi MADANI for the Kepala Batas parliamentary constituency, under the theme "Langkah Untuk Generasi Madani". It is organised by Persatuan Wawasan Pulau Pinang together with Majlis Bandaraya Seberang Perai (MBSP), MARDI and local youth, women and family committees from the Pinang Tunggal state constituency, so expect a friendly, kampung-style crowd rather than a competitive race.
Registration costs RM39 and closes on 15 November 2026. According to the registration page, entitlements are a finisher's medal, a running T-shirt, an e-certificate, a snack pack and a lucky draw coupon, and there are other activities after the run for families and friends. Race kit collection details had not been published in text when we checked.
It is a good pick for mainland families, beginners and walkers who want a gentle, scenic 5km close to home. Islanders heading over should allow for the drive and plan to arrive early for parking and the warm-up.
