The New Year Music Run 2027 is a 5km evening fun run on the mainland, held on Saturday 2 January 2027 at Bertam Street Market in the north of Seberang Perai. The listed start time is 9pm, so this is a night run – a cooler and more festive way to kick off the new year than a dawn race, with music as the theme.
There is one distance, 5km, and two price tiers: RM45 for early-bird entries until 1 December 2026, and RM49 after that. Each entry comes with a T-shirt, a medal, an e-certificate, light refreshments, a lucky-draw chance and a SIM card from Eastel. The organiser, Tiptop Empayar Enterprise, says registration closes once all slots are filled, and the page also shows 1 December beside its closing icon, so it is worth signing up early.
Race kits are collected over three days – 31 December 2026, 1 January 2027 and 2 January 2027 – from 4pm to 10pm each day at the Secondbrain management office (Pejabat Urusan Secondbrain) in Sunshine Mall Bertam. Collecting on race day is possible, but leaves little margin before the 9pm start.
Bertam is in the Kepala Batas district, which gets far fewer events than the island, so this is a handy option for runners in northern Seberang Perai and nearby Kedah. The organiser has not published the route or a street address for the market; check the Howei page closer to the date.
